Today I Moved to Stuffitown, By Grey the Cat

Today is the beginning of my new life in a quiet little place called Stuffitown. Stuffitown is far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Being a cat, I have learned that I don't really like the city.  My dad has a job as a mouser, and it keeps my parents well fed. I don't want to eat mice or even rats. My parents thought it would be best if I spent my time in a place more suited to me. Stuffi, a unicorn and the mayor of Stuffitown told my parents she would look after me. In return I just had to help around town. My parents agreed to this arrangement and promised they would come visit.

Standing outside my new home I feel excited and also a little nervous. I have no friends and my first day of work starts in the morning. As I watch the sun set on my last day of city life, I embrace a new beginning at life as a resident of Stuffitown.

The morning starts with breakfast. Stuffi shows me to the local diner, ran by a pink bear named Woodsy. Woodsy is so fast at making pancakes that they appear on the table like magic. He asks me where I am from and if I have any hobbies. I found out that Woodsy has also just moved into town recently but under much different circumstances.

Woodsy's parents had adopted him when he was just a cub. As he grew up, he became curious to know who his real family was. His adoptive parents told him that at one point his parents lived in Stuffitown. Being a unicorn that lives a very long time, Stuffi recalled Woodsy's parents, but said they had left town after a year or so of living there. So many years have passed that Stuffi has no idea where they might be, but she asked Woodsy to stay in case they return some day. Woodsy loves to cook, so she allowed him to run the diner. In return he gets a cozy place to stay right above the kitchen. Woodsy is uncertain if he will ever find his parents but he said he is already blessed with a set of wonderful adoptive parents who love him.

As I made my way to the bakery, I know that I am going to enjoy it here. My very first job and new friend are here. Who else would I meet? I couldn't wait to find out.
